This model considers the turbine in a parked state, with the rotor prevented from spinning. This state would typically be used during turbine maintenance so that engineers can work safely.
The wind turbine blades are feathered at 90 degrees to the incoming wind direction to minimise aerodynamic thrust and torque on the rotor. The rotor is fixed using a local axis boundary condition. The azimuth is 0 degrees so blade no.1 is facing vertically upwards. The rotor is aligned with the incoming wind flow so there is no skew angle in the horizontal plane.
5 separate steady wind test cases are analysed, with constant wind speeds of 30, 35, 40, 45, 50 m/s respectively.
