This model contains the wind turbine hosted on a fixed monopile. The monopile model is analysed in simplified operational conditions broadly corresponding to DLC1.0 (no wind shear, turbulence, or yaw misalignment). For illustrative purposes, a time varying wind load is applied in a single continuous simulation. The time history of wind speed starts off at 4 m/s, and gradually increases over time in steps of 1 m/s up to 25 m/s.
As per the DTU report, the system would typically be analysed via the IEC design load cases (DLCs) 1.1, 1.6, and 6.1 as a minimum. These load cases prescribe normal turbulence and sea state (DLC 1.1), normal turbulence and severe sea state (1.6), and 50-year extreme wind and sea state (6.1). Should you wish to analyse these load cases yourself, we suggest you examined Example L04 - IEA 15MW RWT and its associated DLC spreadsheet (L4-DLCs.xlsx).
The applied seastate is a JONSWAP wave with Hs=7.6m and Tp=13.0s, as suggested by the IEA 22 MW RWT online repository.
